Senior Mechanical Estimator - Plumbing/Piping

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience preparing competitive estimates for large-scale mechanical construction projects, interpreting plans and specifications, developing detailed scopes of work, soliciting subcontractor/vendor pricing, and working closely with project management, engineering, and operations teams from preconstruction through project award. • Lead the estimating process for commercial and industrial plumbing, piping, and sheet metal projects.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project scopes.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Develop accurate and competitive project estimates while identifying potential risks, exclusions, and opportunities.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Develop labor and material costs based on project requirements and historical data.
• Coordinate with engineering and design teams on design-build and design-assist projects.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals and communicate estimate assumptions, clarifications, and exclusions.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations during the transition from estimating to project execution.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, scope reviews, and bid strategy meetings.
• Analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure scope alignment and accurate comparisons.
• Manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

• 7+ years of mechanical construction estimating experience, with significant exposure to plumbing, piping, and/or sheet metal.
• Experience with a mechanical contractor, MEP contractor, or specialty subcontractor.
• Experience estimating projects ranging from mid-size to $10M+ mechanical scopes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or construction estimating software.
• Experience with platforms such as Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar estimating/takeoff software is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Construction, or a related field is preferred but not required with strong industry experience.
