Construction Project Manager - Commercial & Multi-Family

About the Opportunity. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for a well-established General Contractor in the Portland market. This individual will be responsible for managing commercial and multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through final completion and closeout. The ideal candidate brings strong project management experience within commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, or similarly complex construction and is comfortable managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, documentation, procurement, and stakeholder relationships. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of significant projects while working alongside experienced construction and field teams.

• Manage commercial and multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and key milestones.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
• Lead project meetings and ensure action items and deliverables are completed on schedule.
• Manage project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
• Monitor project budgets, commitments, expenditures, contingencies, cost forecasts, and projected costs to complete.
• Review subcontractor and vendor invoices and manage change orders, including cost and schedule impacts.
• Participate in estimating, budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, and project planning.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, conflicts, and potential cost or schedule risks.
• Support subcontractor and vendor procurement and coordinate long-lead materials and equipment.
• Work closely with the Superintendent to maintain safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve project issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain strong relationships with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Lead project closeout, including punch lists, inspections, commissioning, warranties, O&M manuals, final documentation, and turnover.

• 3+ years of construction project management experience.
• Proven experience managing construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
• Experience with ground-up multifamily, mixed-use, commercial, renovation, or similarly complex projects strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, cost control, procurement, and subcontractor management.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and other construction documents.
• Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management and scheduling platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
